Throughout this presentation I mention 'your marriage'; that phrase includes civil partnerships, and 'your spouse' includes your civil partner. In this presentation I use the word 'divorce' to include the dissolution of a civil partnership as the process is the same and with one exception the evidence required by the Court is identical.
Your marriage is the legal link between yourself and your spouse. It is a contract that gives you responsibilities and rights. If you wish to end that contract then there needs to be a divorce or dissolution of your civil partnership. These are Court orders that end your legal relationship forever. |
