Parliament passed these laws to administer the divorce process to bring about the end of your marrige in 1969 and although there has been an attempt to devise new, more practical and less complicated divorce law in the Family Law Act 1996, the new system proved to be unworkable. It had to be abandoned in 2000. It is for this reason that we have such an outdated system, but it is unlikely to change in the near future. |
